A: Ants are everywhere in my home, yet I don't see where they're coming from. Why?

Q: Ants are normally only noticed when foraging ants appear on indoor surfaces and obvious trails are seen along counter tops, baseboards, cabinet edges and other structural guidelines. Many times this activity may be hidden under carpet edges and within wall voids where ants use electrical and plumbing lines as “super” highways to access any part of the building. In most cases ants seen indoors are coming from outdoor colonies where they enter unnoticed through small cracks, crevices and hidden voids. However, some species, such as Pharaoh ants, mainly have indoor colonies. When inclement weather occurs outdoors, ant colonies may move indoors seeking better living conditions, food and water.
